The Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research Week (Week of Indonesia–Netherlands Education and Research/WINNER) will be held for the sixth time in October 2025. With the theme “Building a Sustainable Future through Education and Research,” this conference is an important event for fostering research collaboration and innovation that has a real impact on society.

This year, WINNER 2025 will be held in a hybrid format in Jakarta and Bogor and broadcast online via RingCentral. IPB University will be one of the hosts of the thematic sessions, affirming its role as a center of innovation and science in the fields of agriculture, the environment, and sustainable development.

IPB University’s Director of Global Connectivity, Dr Eva Anggraini, emphasized that WINNER is not just an academic forum but also a strategic platform for connecting research results with community needs.

“The collaboration between Indonesia and the Netherlands through WINNER has produced various innovations that directly contribute to global challenges ranging from food security and climate change adaptation to the strengthening of transdisciplinary education,” she said.

The impact of this collaboration, said Dr Eva, is not only felt in the scientific realm but also in community empowerment and improving the welfare of society.

Various thematic sessions at WINNER 2025 discussed current topics such as sustainable education, cross-disciplinary collaboration, equality and inclusion, digital transformation, and cultural heritage preservation. More than 2.000 online participants and 200 offline participants actively participated in discussions that explored innovative solutions to global and local challenges.

Dr Eva added that through this forum, IPB University strengthens its commitment to advancing applied and evidence-based innovation. “We want to ensure that research results do not stop at the laboratory but truly become solutions that are alive in the community,” she added.

Since it was first held in 2020, WINNER has become an important milestone in Indonesia-Netherlands bilateral relations. In its sixth year, this conference not only strengthens academic networks but also expands the impact of innovative collaborations that support sustainable development in various sectors.

With a spirit of synergy, WINNER 2025 serves as a concrete example of how education and research can be the primary drivers toward a sustainable and inclusive future for global society. (AS) (IAAS/Aly)
