IPB University Facilitates Internships for Vocational School Teachers in Agriculture Throughout Indonesia
The Department of Food Science and Technology (ITP) at IPB University is once again opening internship opportunities for vocational school teachers in the field of agriculture. This program is being implemented in collaboration with the Center for Vocational Education Quality Assurance (BBPPMPV) in Agriculture.
Prof Eko Hari Purnomo, Chairman of the ITP Department, emphasized that this activity is part of IPB University’s commitment to developing the competence of vocational school teachers.
“We want to strengthen the capacity building of educators so that vocational school students can master food quality and nutrition analysis skills, which are highly needed by the industry in the future,” said Prof Eko.
During the internship, participants received direct guidance from IPB University lecturers and experts. They not only learned basic nutritional composition testing, but also sensory testing practices and interpretation of analysis results for product nutrition labeling.
Representative of BBPPMPV Agriculture, Teni, expressed her appreciation for this collaboration. According to her, the presence of IPB University is crucial in bridging the gap between vocational education and the real needs of the business and industrial sectors.
This year, the program coverage has been expanded to include a number of competencies, such as proximate analysis of agricultural products (basic chemical composition), nutritional information of agricultural products (nutrition labeling and analysis for consumer education), and sensory quality analysis with Dr.-Ing. The internship will be held from September 25 to October 2, 2025, with 12 selected participants from various schools in Indonesia, namely:
- SMK Negeri 1 Bontang, East Kalimantan
