A total of 1.500 alumni of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) IPB University gathered in the Vet Vaganza 2025 event held at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Saturday (7/5). The grand reunion across generations initiated by the Alumni Association (IKA) FKH IPB University became a gathering place and brought together alumni with students.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, in his speech appreciated the presence of the alumni. He also emphasized the importance of this momentum as a form of synergy between alumni and institutions.
“FKH is one of the most successful faculties in transforming into a school which is now the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB),” he said.
He also highlighted the strategic role of alumni in the global arena. “After returning, all of you always have the opportunity to play a strategic role. Both in the economic and social sectors, including in the promotion and diplomacy of Indonesia’s soft power,” he said.
“Hopefully this event is not just ceremonial, but the beginning of deeper involvement between alumni and institutions,” concluded Prof Deni.

Meanwhile, artist and animal lover, Irfan Hakim, was awarded as Animal Welfare Ambassador for his dedication in campaigning for animal welfare in Indonesia.

Chairman of IKA FKH IPB University, drh Gunadi Setiadarma, emphasized the importance of Vet Vaganza as a unifier of alumni across generations. He said, this activity is a five-year grand reunion program initiated by FKH IPB alumni.

“This event is presented as a forum to rebuild togetherness between alumni and alma mater, packaged in an inclusive and relaxed format to create a familiar and warm atmosphere. The alumni can recall the ups and downs of the struggle while studying at FKH IPB,” he said.
Chairman of the Steering Committee as well as Secretary General of IKA FKH IPB, drh Deddy Fachrudin Kurniawan, added that in this meeting also formulated five points of agreement with FKH IPB 2025 alumni.

Second, to contribute in supporting the improvement of the quality of veterinary education in Indonesia. Third, provide support to SKHB IPB students so that they can complete their education well.
Fourth, play an active role in national development, especially food security according to their respective professions and fields of service. Finally, alumni are committed to attending Vet Vaganza 2030 which will become a routine five-year gathering event.
“This agreement will be the basis for the board to develop a real and measurable work program in the future,” said drh Deddy. (AS) (IAAS/KQA)
