The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Human Ecology (HA Fema) IPB University and the Bogor City Population Control and Family Planning Office (DPPKB) officially established a strategic collaboration to accelerate the handling of stunting in Bogor City.

This collaboration will focus on supporting the Stunting Care Religious Movement (Gema Penting) program and organizing educational activities such as the Caring for Family Webinar, Caring for the Future of the Nation Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.

Chairman of HA Fema IPB University, Ahmad Alam, SKPm, ME, emphasized the commitment of his organization to involve students and alumni in real action in the community.

“Through the Gema Penting program, we want to make a direct contribution to family education efforts and reduce stunting rates in Bogor City. This is a form of science-based collaboration to find solutions together,” he said during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Friday (5/2).

The agreed scope of cooperation includes various aspects, including the provision of expert speakers, mobilizing support from various communities, technical facilitation of activity implementation, and joint promotion of the program.

In addition, this program also actively involves students and alumni of Fema IPB University through internship programs, Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKN), and community mentoring activities. In addition, HA Fema will also provide official recommendations for further studies and scholarships for relevant parties.

Chairman of DPPKB Bogor City, Drs Anas S Rasmana, MM, welcomed the synergy with HA Fema. He expressed his appreciation for the support given in the success of Gema Penting, which is a strategic program of Bogor City Government in an effort to reduce stunting rate.

For information, in 2024, the stunting prevalence rate in Bogor City reached 18,2 percent. Although the number has decreased from 18,7 percent in 2023, this still needs to be a common concern.

“We are very optimistic that cross-sector collaboration like this will accelerate the achievement of national targets and improve the quality of life of families in Bogor City,” said Drs Anas.

The collaboration between HA Fema IPB University and DPPKB Bogor City is expected to be a significant step in building a strong synergy between academics and local governments in order to realize a healthy, smart, and competitive generation of Indonesia towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.
