PT Rothoblaas Indonesia Gives Public Lecture to Students of Forest Products Technology IPB University
The Department of Forestry Products, Faculty of Forestry and Environment (Fahutan) IPB University invited PT Rothoblaas Indonesia to give a public lecture to students of the Forestry Products Study Program (Prodi). This activity was carried out in order to fulfill the main performance index (IKU), especially the 4th point (teaching practitioners on campus).
PT Rothoblaas is a multinational company engaged in the field of connection/fastening systems for timber building. Timber building today has become a trend, even considered as a symbol of personal/agency prosperity that owns it.
Wooden buildings have various advantages including being environmentally friendly. However, timber buildings require a special and reliable fastening system to support the safety and comfort of the building.
Dean of Faculty Of Forestry And Environment IPB University, Dr Naresworo Nugroho appreciated this public lecture. Dr Istie Sekartining Rahayu, Chairperson of the Forestry Products Department of IPB University said, the organization of public lectures can be a bridge that connects the world of business and industry (DUDI) and academics.
"Hopefully this public lecture can continue to provide opportunities for students, both for conducting research and internship activities for Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM)," said Dr Istie as the moderator of the public lecture held at the Sylva Pertamina Room, IPB Dramaga Campus some time ago.
Muhammad Rieztra Alfathysyah and Mario Kurniadi who were present as speakers explained the topic 'Introduction to Connectors and Fasteners for Timber Constructions'. This topic is expected to be an enrichment, especially for 6th semester students who are taking the Timber Construction Engineering Course.
Rieztra and Mario conveyed several types of connections that are widely used in timber buildings, both at home and abroad. In the country itself, PT Rothoblaas has worked with various companies to build timber buildings in the form of residential houses and others. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ARD)
