IPB University Opens Applied Bachelor Program (D4) Seed Technology
The Vocational School (SV) of IPB University now opens the D4 (Applied Bachelor) Program in Seed Technology. The D4 Seed Technology Study Program is a development of the D3 Seed Industry Technology Study Program. Registration is opened through the Independent Selection of IPB Enterprises (SM-IPB) Vocational School.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Profi drh Deni Noviana, said that the Seed Technology Study Program was opened in an effort to fulfill the needs of human resources (HR) for the national, foreign and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) private seed producer industry. Not only that, human resources graduates of this study program are also needed as plant seed supervisors at seed producers and certification institutions at the main plant seed supervisor level.
"The existence of the Applied Undergraduate Program in Seed Technology, which will also develop an Applied Master's Program, will encourage the number of applied research, publications and patents in the field of seed technology. This D4 study program can also encourage an increase in the quality and quantity of student input in the field of seed technology," he said.
"The Vocational School of IPB University also collaborates with the Center for Plantation Seeds and Plant Protection (BBPPTP) Ambon in the development of generative and vegetative coconut seed production through tissue culture methods. SV IPB University cooperation is also established with the Cipanas Presidential Palace in the framework of education, training and community service," he added.(dh/Rz) (IAAS/MKY)
