IPB University Vocational School’s V-Garden Became the Location for the Movement to Plant 10,000 Medicinal Plants

V-Garden Vocational School (SV) IPB University is one of the locations for planting 10,000 medicinal plants initiated by the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) in commemoration of World Environment Day. SV IPB University together with the POM Workshop in Bogor Regency, the Cibinong National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Food and Drug Control Scout Work Unit (SAKA POM) participated in the Movement for Planting 10,000 Medicinal Plants Simultaneously throughout Indonesia.
The activity was carried out on Sunday (17/7) at two selected points, namely the V-Garden Vocational School of IPB University and the BRIN Cibinong greening area. A total of 150 seeds of medicinal plants, namely eucalyptus, avocado, soursop, guava and gmelina. These plant seeds were provided by Rumpin Modern Nursery, Ministry of Environment.
Present at the activity were Dr Anita Ristianingrum, Vice Dean of the Vocational School for Resources, Collaboration, and Development of IPB University; Yogi Vidyaaztutie, Chairman of Agrianita SV IPB University; and Iltizam Nasrullah, Apt, MSi as the Chairman of the POM Workshop in Bogor Regency.
Dr Anita Ristianingrum in her remarks introduced that IPB University has several points for growing vegetables, fruit and flowers. There is also land for farming and fish farming.
"This activity also introduces the public to Indonesia's natural wealth. As we know, these plants can be used for traditional medicine. For example, the use of eucalyptus oil which is common in society to warm the body, of course there are many other uses. It is hoped that the seeds that we plant today can grow and benefit the people who live around them," Iltizam explained.
Through the Medicinal Plant Planting Movement, it is hoped that this will be a good start to set an example for the community so they can use land in their yards or vacant land properly and usefully. (*/Rz) (IAAS/BLA)
