Two Young Lecturers of IPB University Present Research Results at WISE, the Indonesian Scientific Event at Wageningen University

The long road of cooperation between Indonesia and Wageningen has spawned many programs, both research and human resources. In the field of research, there is a Wageningen-Indonesia Scientific Exposure (WISE) program, an event for Indonesian students to present their research results.
There are eight presenters in this research. They are scientists, Indonesian doctoral students, who are completing their education at Wageningen University and Research (WUR). Of the eight presenters, there were two doctoral students from IPB University, namely Ahmad Fadilla and Ardilasunu.
Prof Henk van Hoogeveen in his remarks encouraged more cooperation between Indonesia and WUR. Currently there are several packages with programs that integrate cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands, one of which is through the Interdisciplinary Research and Education Fund (INREF) Program.
WISE was opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mayerfas. On this occasion, he expressed the need to strengthen cooperation with many universities in Indonesia. "The hope is that with an advanced research culture and good integration, quality knowledge will be produced," he said.
Several universities that were invited to attend witnessed and strengthened the collaboration with Wageningen University were the University of North Sumatra, Andalas University, Jambi University, Sriwijaya University, Bangka Belitung University, Syiah Kuala University and several others.
In this forum, Vice Rector of IPB University in the field of Global Connectivity, Collaboration And Alumni Relations, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar explained various programs and achievements of IPB University in transdisciplinary research. Assistant Prof Lisa Becking, as the main speaker, explained the resilience of marine ecosystem research. The research was conducted in Raja Ampat, West Papua. She also conducted research on oil palm in Sumatra.
Apart from seeing the results of existing research achievements, the WISE program is also a place to increase the motivation of Indonesian students who are enjoying their education at Wageningen.
The event was closed with a dinner together at the Orion Building WUR with Padang dishes supported by the Indonesian embassy. Not only did the material and research results add to students' tastes, dinner was also a happy ending. (*/Rz) (IAAS/YMK)
