Again, IPB Gets the Widyapadhi Award
Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) once again brought pride by getting the 1st rank on Widyapadhi Award 2018. This award was handed over by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Menristekdikti RI), Prof. Dr. M. Nasir, and was accepted by the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria at the National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) on Friday (10/8) in Pekanbaru, Riau.
Widyapadhi Award is an award from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) given to universities for their efforts in encouraging the development of innovation, so that it can create added value in the form of commercial, economic and socio-cultural.
This award was again accepted by IPB given the many researches and innovations carried out by IPB researchers that were directly related to the theme of the 23rd National Technology Awakening Day (Haktenas) this year "Food Self-Reliance and Energy ". Some examples of IPB's innovation products include: IPB3S rice, calina papaya, ornamental chili varieties, catfish derivative products (clarias biscuits, catfish oil), various herbal products, various palm oil derivative products (surfactants, helmets from empty palm oilbunches) ), and many more. There were 415 innovations (Business Innovation Center/BIC versions) produced by IPB in 2018.
IPB's promotion and technology transfer efforts have also been carried out by building the Innovation Gallery and Gerai Serambi Botani as many as 15 outlets in several cities in Indonesia. According to BIC during the period 2008-2017, IPB was the most prospective contributor to innovation in Indonesia, with 39.71 percent.
The Rector of IPB on this occasion expressed his gratitude for the achievements, "Alhamdulillah, of course we are grateful for this achievement and hopefully this will encourage us to be more successful in strengthening innovation.
