Creating Business Movement for Vocational High School Students, IPB Students Win National Champion
Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) announced that the number of unemployed in August 2017 reached 7.03 million people. Of these, unemployment from Vocational High School (SMK) was in top ranking at 11.41 percent. The system in SMK aims to obtain the independent graduates, but unfortunately their expertise is not necessarily required by the company.
From the point of view of the problem, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) student, Muhammad Firman Ardiyansyah from the School of Business gave the idea of ??Business Incubator for SMK, entrepreneurship solution and business for vocational students. These ideas and concepts managed to attract the attention of the jury so that Firman successfully won the second champion in the national essay competition for student at the Kemilau Rafflesia Inisiator event, at the University of Bengkulu on 22-23 February.
Kemilau Rafflesia Initiator was an annual event held by the University of Bengkulu, which consisted of essay and debates competitions. The essay competition was participated by various universities in Indonesia. The essays presented were the work of ten best finalists, for then be selected to get top three champions.
"This is a concept of entrepreneurship subjects, and business for vocational students. In a three-year study period, SMK students will be introduced insight and knowledge about the business world. The idea of ??SMK Business Incubator is very flexible for vocational students in all majors and expertise. It is expected later, that the SMK students will not only focus on finding jobs, but creating jobs with business and entrepreneurship, "said Firman. (TK)
