Young Entrepreneur Award for the Campus Ambassador in Malaysia
Maulida Aulia Rezki, student of the Department of Agribusiness, of the Faculty of Economics and Management, of Bogor Agricultural University (FEM IPB) was named to be the creativepreneur on food in Malaysia. The award was granted at the International Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 in cooperation with the Global Entrepreneur Community in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center Hall, on 11-14 December 2017. In addition to the award, Maulida was also elected as the Youngpreneur Ambassador for Campus Entrepreneur. Maulida was previously selected as one of the 50 young entrepreneurs representing Indonesia. In an event attended by 5,000 young entrepreneurs in the world, Maulida presented and introduced her products to all young entrepreneurs in the world.
The creativepreneur award was awarded to Maulida for her innovation she has made on food products, namely Cane Bread based on dregs of tofu flour. Usually cane bread made from wheat flour, Maulida used of tofu waste of tofu production which she then utilized it to be tofu flour to replace wheat flour. The dregs of tofu was obtained from a tofu-producing village, in Bojong Sempu Parung village. Until recently the waste of local tofu producers usually was dumped out into a river that cause environmental problems. That's what reason why Maulida made such food innovation.
Entrepreneurship which was conducted by the team of four students of IPB has been started since October 2017. In carrying out entrepreneurship, Maulida applied the principle of three pillars for a business. "I apply the three pillar principles, namely People, Profit and Planet. People, I try to help local people improve the economy. Profit, profit from the sale and the Planet is to save the planet by utilizing untapped waste to be valuable, "explained Maulida.
In the near future Maulida planned to cooperate with local residents for the production of the cane bread. Currently, there are two types of products she produces, namely ready to eat and ready to cook types. "In the future she will develop further for other products, at th beginning we only sell ready to eat cane bread, but just two weeks ago we produced ready to cook product. Currently developing and introducing products to consumers are in progress, "said Maulida. "In the future we will promote our product for a larger market, produce the production in large scale and satisfy consumer desires.
