The Widya Padhi and the Best Foreign Researchers Partnership Program Awards for Rector of IPB
Rector of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, was granted the IPTEK 2017 award at the 22nd Hari Kebangkitan Teknologi Nasional (HARTEKNAS National Technology Awakening Day) in Makassar, on 10 August 2017. In this opportunity IPB was granted two awards, namely Anugerah Widya Padhi and Anugerah Kerjasama Peneliti Asing Terbaik untuk Kategori Perguruan Tinggi (the Best Foreign Researchers Partnership Program for Higher Education Category). The awards were received by Rector, the handed over by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) RI, and was witnessed by the President and Vice President of RI, as well as the country's technological figures, BJ. Habibie.
"Alhamdulillah, these tributes are for all of us, IPB cummunities, who have been dedicated in developing research outcomes to innovation to commercialization. This requires consistency, "he said.
Rector expected that the university will continue creating novel innovations in the near the future, to retain the tribute of IPB as the most innovative university, not only in the award winning institution but really in reality. "We have shown positive evidence and positive impact as perceived by the community. Hopefully this award will be motivate us to continue to produce innovations that are beneficial for the communities, "he added.
The Karya Iptek dan Inovasi Nasional (Science and Technology and National Innovation) awards are granted for universities, industries, ministries / agencies, local government, R & D institutions, academicians, innovative actors and grassroots communities.
The second winner of Anugerah Widya Padhi won by Rector of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and third winner won by Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Widya Padhi Awards is an award for science and technology development and it is organized by Kemenristekdikti RI in order to appreciate Higher Education Institutions which carries out reliable and quality research programs and have made innovative products, have established innovation center facilities, training institute of trainer (ToT), incubation institution and cooperative works with industry.
As stated in the page http://www.dikti.go.id, the purpose of the implementation of Science and Technology Award 2017, also to encourage the improvement skills of science and technology, for strengthening of national innovation programs to support independence and competitiveness of Indonesia. Another goal is to create conducive atmosphere of strengthening and developing innovation as an outreach of science and technology research in the creation of value-added commercial, economic and / or socio-culture on an on-going basis, encouraging innovators (individuals, organizations, institutions) to be motivated in realizing creative ideas of added value provision, both as individuals and through partnerships and cooperation among elements of innovation.
