IPB University’s Faculty of Animal Science Hosts the Signing of Cooperation with the Cirebon City KPPP Office
Four faculties and one school at IPB University build cooperation with the Cirebon City Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries Service (DKPPP). The signing of the cooperation agreement (PKS) took place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet), Dramaga Campus of IPB, (17/5).
The faculties and schools are the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), Faculty of Animal Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) and the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB).
The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science of IPB University, Dr. Idat Galih Permana conveyed several impressions of the City of Cirebon. According to him, Cirebon is a city with excellent infrastructure. In his opinion, the relationship between Cirebon and Bogor is also good, especially since there are many alumni or Cirebon residents who are lecturers or educational staff at IPB University.
"We all have the same passion, in terms of collaboration. We have resources that we both want to advance. We want to develop cooperation with various institutions, including elements of the local government," said Dr. Idat in his remarks before the invited guests.
He hopes that this year there will be something that can be done for the development of Cirebon City. This is because Cirebon is a very strategic area to support various resources, especially those in the Greater Jakarta area.
Ir Hj Yati Rohayati as the Head of the Cirebon City DKPPP gave an overview of the services he leads. He stated, DKPPP Cirebon consists of food security (National Food Agency), animal science, as well as marine and fisheries along with the integrated service unit (UPT). The UPTs are UPT Slaughterhouses (RPH), Veterinarians, Horticultural Seed Development, Center for Development of Beef Livestock and Freshwater Fish Seed Center.
"Hopefully this PKS will become enthusiastic again, increase knowledge, and add creative innovation so that service to the community in Cirebon City will be even better. Development in the food sector will be even better for the people of Cirebon," he remarked.
Ir Yati, who is also an alumni of IPB University, also explained the condition of Cirebon in general, with an area of no more than 38,000 KM2, and a population of around 320,000 in the evening. This figure can increase up to seven times during the day.
“That's all because the magnet is in the city of Cirebon. Trade, regional crossings, all activities in the city of Cirebon. In fact, the existence of hotels increases every year,” he said.
In addition, he opened opportunities for students to carry out field work practices (PKL) at the Cirebon City DKPPP Livestock Center.
IPB University Cooperation Director, Dr. Jaenal Effendi was also present and conveyed several points related to this activity. "What will be added in this period is the multiplier effect of collaboration, which means creating an ecosystem. We have budgeted for partner meeting activities. We will sort all IPB University partners according to their clusters.
According to him, IPB University has done many things. He hopes that the things that have been done by each faculty can reach the partners. "IPB University is now one stop shopping," he explained.
The signing of this cooperation agreement was also witnessed by the deans and delegations of faculty and school deans who were part of the PKS signing.
