IPB University through the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development again held a briefing lecture for students participating in the 2023 Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) Innovation online through Zoom Meeting (13/5). This lecture aims to educate students in preparing themselves before going into the field through lecture materials provided by IPB University expert speakers.

"Through KKN-T Inovasi activities, students can gain experience outside the campus so that students' abilities or soft skills can develop," said the Director of Agromaritime Community Development IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa during his speech. 

He continued, in addition to debriefing at the IPB University level, students will also get debriefing materials gradually at the faculty and department levels. Thus, it is hoped that students will be better prepared when carrying out KKN activities with the community.

In this debriefing lecture session, students were provided with material entitled 'Ethics and Communication in Society' delivered by Prof Pudji Muljono, IPB University lecturer from the Department of Communication Science and Community Development (SKPM), Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema). 

"With ethics, humans can judge and decide which actions or attitudes are good and bad or which are wrong and right," he said.

The activity was also attended by the Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship, Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development IPB University, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Irfany as a speaker. On the occasion, he said that the development of social entrepreneurship aims to strengthen the economic and business, social and ecological ecosystems of rural communities and the IPB University campus circle. 

“Sociopreneur is not a profession. It exists in all professions, gene is not significant. They are independent, fighters for ideas become real, innovate and be creative, grow together in economic development and sustainability. They are actors and inspirations of civilization," he said.

The briefing lecture ended with the material 'Occupational Health and Safety during KKN' delivered by Dr drh Aulia Andi Mustika, Head of Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management Office of IPB University. 

"Health and safety with KKN is an important thing to prepare. Starting from preparations during location introduction, personal protective equipment, first aid in accidents (P3K), the application of driving safety, to the importance of maintaining the cohesiveness of the KKN team," he explained.

By applying the principles of occupational safety and health (K3), he said, KKN activities that are free from risks that endanger the health and safety of students and the community can be realized. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ANF)
