PKSPL IPB University Details the Master Plan for Tidung Kecil Island as a Conservation Center for DKI Jakarta Province
As an effort to declare the master plan for the conservation center for Tidung Kecil Island, Seribu Islands, the Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies (PKSPL) IPB University together with the DKI Jakarta Province Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture Service (DKPKP) conducted a field survey to see firsthand the area to be developed.
Tidung Kecil Island is a group of small islands with Tidung Besar Island. Tidung Kecil Island will be developed as a conservation center later. The master plan for the island's conservation center has been carried out since 2019 by the DKPKP of DKI Jakarta Province. Conservation is carried out for coastal and marine ecosystem resources such as coral reefs, seagrasses, mangroves, their associated biota and terrestrial fauna habitat.
"Field surveys were carried out by direct observation and discussion with the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Center for Marine Cultivation and Conservation (PBKL). Discussions were held to confirm and accommodate existing buildings that had been built after the development master plan," said PKSPL IPB University senior researcher, Dr. Fery Kurniawan.
Supervision was carried out for three days in mid-March. Dr Fery Kurniawan, Dr Ahmad Arifin Hadi, Hery Kristiawan, Robba Fahrisy Darus, Hera Lady Melindo and Mila Cornelia were the team that conducted the survey.
Dr Fery Kurniawan said, this activity aims to perfect the material or materials to be used. In addition, this survey is to estimate the cost requirements that will be required during construction.
"The development and development of Tidung Kecil Island needs to pay attention to conservation principles where it is permissible to use 30 percent of the space of the total area of the conservation area," added the IPB University lecturer from the Department of Aquatic Resources Management, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK).
Cecep Hermawan of the PBKL Implementation Unit (Satlap) said that development needs to pay attention to conservation principles. This is because Tidung Kecil Island is a conservation island.
"Price escalation also needs to be considered because it is not certain that construction will be carried out in 2023, it could be in five years," he wrote in a brief discussion at the Cultivation Center. (*/Rz) (IAAS/MKY)
