Prof Tridoyo Kusumastanto Conveys the Role of MWA in Supporting Higher Education

Prof Tridoyo Kusumastanto, Head of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of IPB University congratulated the Head of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) MWA for being elected Head of the Legal Entity State Higher Education Forum (PTNBH) and MWA of the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) being elected as Deputy Head of PTN BH MWA Forum.  He conveyed this in the PTNBH Board of Trustees Forum (MWA) at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (8/3).

He said that the role of MWA in protecting tertiary institutions was outlined in various regulations, including those related to audit committee regulations.  The audit committee is an institution or unit under the MWA that has independence.

"But IPB University responded to this by making MWA regulations regarding rules related to the audit committee.  So, we agree that the interaction will continue through MWA guidance," he said.

In this activity, the 12th Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof H Mohamad Nasir said that according to the mandate of the government, PTNBH must be able to enter a world class university.
"I want that in the future Indonesian universities can enter world-class, especially the innovations that are produced," explained Prof Nasir.

He added, in the Constitution No. 12 of 2012, all tertiary institutions (state and private) are given the freedom to manage their institutions.
"Everything is handed over to the Chancellor.  The MWA's duties are in the non-academic field.  With the existence of this MWA forum, I feel very fortunate that we can collaborate, complain about the difficulties encountered in managing tertiary institutions in each place," he said.
