IPB University Discourse Forum Students Conduct a Converge with Sandiaga Uno, Discuss The Collaboration

The Integritas Cabinet, Postgraduate Student Forum (Forum Discourse) IPB University held a friendly meeting and audience with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf), (6/3). The arrival of the student delegation led by Verry Surya Hendrawan as a General Chairman of the Discourse Forum was immediately warmly welcomed by Sandiaga Uno (Minister of Parekraf), Nia Niscaya (Deputy for Strategic Policy of the Ministry of Parekraf) and Agustiani Rahayu (Director of Strategic Studies at the Ministry of Parekraf) and their staff.

In his presentation, Sandi explained that the working mechanism must follow the system. An example of a case is related to inadequate access roads for tourism.
The Parekraf Minister said, “Because (at that time) we did not yet have a Presidential Instruction which gave the central government the flexibility to build roads in districts/cities/provinces. But now there is a Presidential Instruction, and we are budgeting 30 trillion for the construction of roads to the tourist destinations.”

He added that the government is certainly the main actor, but the government also needs input from academics to straighten and provide input in order to produce the right policies.

“The formulation and monitoring of strategic policies can be collaborated with IPB University to produce a comprehensive policy brief,” said Sandi.

On the occasion of this meeting, a joint commitment was built to provide the widest possible opportunity for collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the IPB University Discourse Forum.
