Graduate School of IPB University Holds Public Lecture Introduction to Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Technology to Support Learning
Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University held a public lecture on the introduction of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology to support learning in the Cikaret PSL Situ Room, Baranangsiang Campus, Bogor (2/3). Attended by 57 participants consisting of representatives of multidisciplinary study program (Prodi) lecturers and representatives of teaching lecturers from faculties.
This public lecture presented speakers Dr Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo from the Department of Computer Science and Electronics, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Dr Akhmad Arifin Hadi from the Department of Landscape Architecture IPB University, Auzi Asfarian, SKom, MKom from the Department of Computer Science IPB University and Faldiena Marcelita, ST , MKom from the Vocational School of IPB University.
Prof Anas Miftah Fauzi, Dean of the Graduate School of IPB University in his remarks said that this public lecture was held to provide information so that we can jointly start the learning process of preparing models with AR and VR technology. “I still remember at the 2019 workshop, AR and VR technology is our hope as part of the 2020 curriculum development (K2020),” he said.
Prof. Anas added that from the collaboration of IPB University with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), there will be a Smart Classroom which will later be on the Dramaga SPs IPB University campus. So that this room can be utilized and used by anyone to support learning activities,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Dr Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, one of the speakers in this public lecture, shared his experience using VR as a means of promoting community-based tourism villages to increase the interest in visiting millennial tourists. One of these backgrounds is based on the lack of a pro-millennial tourism village experience package which so far has not been maximized.
“The urgency of the idea being carried out is to increase the human resource capability of the tourism village in managing digital tourism villages. Then to increase brand awareness of tourism village products through the provision of digital promotional content,” he said. (HBL/Zul) (IAAS/Res)
