Environmental Care Action for Students of IPB University

As a form of love for the environment, IPB University students who currently live in the Public Competency Education Program Dormitory (PPKU) work together to clean up their dormitory environment.  This activity, which is routinely held once a month, is called the Dormitory Clean-Up (BBA).

BBA activities are intended so that students pay more attention to the surrounding environment in order to stay clean and healthy.  Through this BBA activity, students work together to clean the dormitory building and its rooms simultaneously to create a clean environment.

So that students are more active and eager to clean their rooms, they are given rewards for the cleanest and neatest dormitories.  The winner of the challenge this time is A3 Lorong 5 dormitory, female hostel category and C2 Lorong 5 dormitory, male dormitory category.

"We congratulate the winners and for those who have not been fortunate, please increase their enthusiasm to clean the surrounding environment," said Intan Azizka, Senior Resident Dormitory who is also a student of IPB University from the Faculty of Economics and Management.

In addition to BBA activities which are held once a month, students are also invited to sort trash every Friday and Saturday. "Waste has a price, as long as it can be managed.  Unfortunately, so far only a few are willing to manage the waste, "said Ibrahim Rozin, one of the Senior Resident Hostels.

Rozin explained, although the garbage was bought cheaply, it was the price of the disaster that could be prevented because the garbage selection program was extraordinary.

The results of the selection and collection of plastic and paper waste which is carried out twice a week will later be sold.  Financial management from the sale of waste is used for the welfare needs of the hostel and the management of the waste itself.

"The management system is open, because it will be announced every time the sale of these items is carried out," concluded Rozin.  (Mega / Rosyid)
