Every year, IPB University freshmen partake in 4 day-long orientation and introductory program, or known as Masa Perkenalan Kampus Mahasiswa Baru (MPKMB). Total of 3,626 Year 2019/2020 undergraduate freshmen (a.k.a. Andamaru Jayantara) joined this year’s MPKMB on August 9th, 2019 in IPB Darmaga Campus—and broke World’s record. With their performance, they altogether succeeded displaying 112 different lenticular images and 56 different formations and marked the record category of “The Most Lenticular People Formation”, released by the Record Holders Republic (RHR). RHR is a world record institution that aims to standardize, authenticate, register, and regulate official world records with regard to time, distance, and amount. The number 56 reflected this year’s freshmen’s identity as 56th Batch students of IPB University, which has been established since 1963. This record break was not the first time—instead this marked as the third time for IPB University freshmen, after previous ones in 2018 and 2016. IPB University’s Rector—Dr. Arif Satria, Student President—Mr. Muhammad Nurdiansyah and MPKMB 2019 Chairperson—Mr. Dari A. Qital expressed their excitement and gratitude towards all parties involved. Meanwhile, IPB University’s Vocational School also climbed on the bandwagon. IPB vocational freshmen during this year’s orientation event also broke, not one—but two records. Total 2,200 vocational new students marked their name in two RHR record of “Configuring Mosaics with the Most Used Plastic Bottles” and “Configuring Formations with the Most Totebag Media”, forming 56 formations within one minute and fifteen seconds.
