IPB University Creates Partnership with Musi Banyuasin Regency and Halal Product Guarantee Agency
IPB University Creates Partnership with Musi Banyuasin Regency and Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BJPH). This partnership was symbolized with the signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding at the Academic Senate Room, Dramaga Campus, Bogor (16/7).
Partnership between IPB University with Musi Banyuasin regency was in means to promote the animal farming in the regency. Meanwhile with BPJPH, the partnership was focused on increasing the guarantee of halal products in Indonesia.
IPB University Rector, Dr. Arif Satria welcomed the partnership between IPB University and the government of Musi Banyuasin regency and BPJPH with pleasure.
“We welcome this partnership with Musi Banyuasin Regency in the development of a Community Animal Farming School (SPR). SPR is one of the products of development innovations of the institutions at IPB University which has been proven successful in various areas,” Dr. Arif said.
Dr. Arif confessed that the SPR program has been adapted with the newest technology which is the 4.0 technology. With the adaptation of the SPR program, Dr. Arif hopes that the animal farming activities can use this new technology such as the internet of things and artificial intelligence.
Related to the collaboration with BPJPH, Dr. Arif claimed that IPB University was the initiator of halal studies in Indonesia. Currently IPB University is trying to build the first halal center building in Indonesia.
“We should not be left behind by Thailand, which already has a halal center, which includes halal studies on food, cosmetics and services, and there are also halal incubators. Therefore we need to have a halal center that can study halal products because the population of Indonesia is a Muslim majority, “said Dr. Arif.
Related to halal center development, Dr. Arif hopes that technology 4.0 can be entered and utilized in order to develop halal product guarantees in Indonesia. He gave an example, with the existence of artificial intelligence, it is enough to use photos or images to find out whether the product is halal or not.
“Inevitably we have to keep up with today’s technology. That way we can produce innovations that can be utilized by the community, “concluded Dr. Arif.
Musi Banyuasin Regent, Dodi Reza Alex Noerdin hopes that cooperation with IPB University in developing livestock can increase livestock production in the district.
“I am very happy and proud because I can collaborate with IPB University. With innovations produced by IPB University, I hope that not only the SPR will be developed, but other sectors such as agriculture and biofuels, “said Dodi.
In line with Dodi, Director of BPJPH, Prof. Ir Sukoso joined in cooperating with IPB University because of the innovations produced. “We hope that the initiation and contribution of IPB University with its innovations can help implement the guarantee of halal products.
