IPB Academic Senate Is Preparing to Elect the Members of Board of Trustees 2019 – 2019
The term of the Board of Trustees / Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) of IPB University 2014-2019 period will soon come to an end. Because of this, IPB Academic Senate is preparing to carry out a selection process for the new MWA members who will be assigned for the 2019-2024 period. The IPB MWA is the highest body in IPB that represents the interests of the government, th community and the institutional interests of IPB.
Based on the Statute of IPB Article 56, those who have the right to choose the members of the IPB MWA are the Academic Senate (SA) of IPB members. MWA consists of 17 (seventeen) people. MWA element consists of: 1 (one) Minister; 1 (one) Rector; 8 (eight) people representing SA elements; 1 (one) person represents the element of Education Personnel; 1 (one) person represents the Student element; 1 (one) person represents the alumni element, and 4 (four) people represent the society elements.
Requirements for MWA members are:
1. Believe and fear God Almighty
2. Be in good physical and spiritual health
3. Have the ability and commitment to develop and maintain the sustainability of IPB
4. Have a commitment to the preservation and development of the values and identity of IPB
5. Have a national reputation in the academic, cultural, community, or have the ability to develop IPB resources
6. Have the ability to build a synergistic relationship between IPB and the community and the Government
7. Is not affiliated with political parties, except the Minister
Alumni Element Members:
For MWA members from alumni, the election for Candidates will be held in 22-26 April 2019. The proposed Candidates by the Alumni Association (HA) of IPB will be held from April 29th – May 6th, 2019. Candidates for Alumni Membership will be held in May 6th – 15th, 2019.
Community Elements Members:
1. Selection and nomination of candidates for the academic community and educational staff in each work unit, will be carried out in the period of April 22nd-26th, 2019.
2. The evaluation and selection of 16 prospective Community Representative MWA Members by the Ad-Hoc Committee will be held on April 29th – May 6th, 2019.
3. Selection of Candidates for Community Members of MWA by the SA will be held on May 13th – 17th, 2019.
4. Confirmation of the willingness of four Candidates for Community Members of the Board of Trustees, and the determination of four Candidates for Community Members of the Board of Trustees carried out on May 20th – 31st, 2019
Procedure for Selection of MWA Members for Community Elements:
1. The selection of prospective MWA members from the Community element is carried out in each work unit, namely: a) faculties and schools, b) SPs and LPPM work units as well as faculties and schools coordinated by the Secretary of the Institute.
2. Each unit proposes 1-3 people to be candidates for SA. Proposal is done by the head of the work unit (Dean, Chair of LPPM, Secretary of the Institute).
3. Alumni can propose as many as 3 (three) Candidates to SA through HA IPB.
Criteria for Prospective MWA Members for Community Elements:
1. Have a strong vision and insight about efforts to develop agriculture, marine and biosciences in national development;
2. Have a strong commitment to develop IPB;
3. Is able to maintain the financial health of IPB;
4. Experienced in analyzing, managing, and running a business in order to utilize and protect the assets of IPB and to realize the vision of IPB;
5. Have extensive networking and access to policy-making sources, business people and parties related to the development of higher education, raising resources for the development of IPB, and sustainable development;
6. Have an integrity and is able to represent the identity (flag carrier) of IPB
