The breakthrough of the West Java government, One Village One Company launched by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil in Ciburial Tourism Village, Garut (20/12) received a positive response from the Rector of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB). According to Dr. Arif Satria, Rector of IPB, this is a breakthrough that will transform a village into more millennial.

“The village is the center of Indonesia’s new economic growth. Therefore, with this one village one company, IPB is ready to support it to be able to empower its alumni and then become CEOs and control managers. This breakthrough is in line with IPB Share, which currently trying to improve the economy of the campus community to be able to improve the quality of its products,” he said.

Indonesia was built from villages. However, all of this cannot be done alone, there must be a synergy of all parties. “This is what is called the pentahelix theory, there are governments, the private sector, universities, media, and society. We will continue to use this theory to build West Java,” said Ridwan Kamil.

According to him, to realize one village one company needs research to research villages, especially in Garut and generally in West Java to see the potential of each village. For this reason, Ridwan cooperates with universities to obtain effective innovations that can be applied in the village.

“Besides needing knowledge, human resources are also needed because these villages will go digital. The hope is in the future, tourists who are interested in the beauty of West Java, especially Garut can see on YouTube, then will book online. Meanwhile, before tourists arrive, the villagers prepare for the reception so that tourists return happily,” he said.

The governor hopes that around 5,000 college alumni can stay around two years in villages in West Java Province. Not only a tourist attraction, Ridwan Kamil has prepared a village product market and is looking for companies that need these products.

“The hope is that villagers do not need to leave the village to produce market desires. Thus, besides staying in the village, residents can also get income from their work. One village of one company is to reduce inequality. If this program is successful, it can be an example for villages in Indonesia. There is no more inequality between villages and cities. These are the needs that we expect from academics, “he added.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Garut, Rudy Gunawan explained that his area consisted of 420 villages and 21 villages. Garut has the sea to the highest mountains. Garut also has an extraordinary energy source.

“I would like to thank the Rector of IPB because there were many alumni of IPB who built Garut Regency including those who joined to become Garut Regency bureaucrats. Hopefully, with the one village one company program, there will be many foreign tourists coming to Garut,” he said. (RYS)
