Together with TNI AU, IPB Held Soft-skill and National Defense Training
Honor, Discipline, Responsible. Those are slogans of patriotic attitude that can be found as entering the area of Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) 024 Atang Sanjaya, Bogor. Noticing the challenges of times, TNI’s attitude of patriotism will have a positive impact if it is internalized in the youths’ character, especially college students. That was done by Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Bogor Agricultural University (FPIK IPB) that held Softskill and National Defense Training program for about 400 students of FPIK IPB of the 54th Generation (Sunday, 9/12).
According to Dr. Ir. Lucky Adrianto, MS, Dean of FPIK, this training is very vital to be given to students. It cannot be denied that TNI has attitude of patriotism includes morale, corps’ spirit, togetherness, integrity, and the best command structure in Indonesia. Therefore, the most essential part of this activity is the re-connection of FPIK IPB as educational institution for Indonesian youth with TNI AU 024, so students can learn self developing and strong character building just like TNI’s patriotism.
“After this activity, we hope students will be tougher, more unite, also have morale and corps’ spirit. So, it will be easier to collaborate either between students or between us the lecturers, for the better FPIK and Indonesian Marine Fisheries”, said Dr. Lucky.
Took place at Squadron 6’s Hangar of TNI AU 024 Atang Sanjaya, this training went well. Started with opening ceremony, this event was continued with outbound and material of the foundation of State Defense. There were eight kinds of outbound conducted, from leaked pipe game, rubber transferring game, trust fall, walking on bamboo game, pencil inserting game, fill the bottle by transferring a tray of glasses filled with water, string handcuff, and wooden stick relay. The next was material of the foundation of state defense which comprised of general knowledge about TNI AU, specifically TNI AU 024 Atang Sanjaya.
M M. Iqbal Mas Putera, Commander of Skatek TNI AU 024 appreciated the soft-skill and national defense training which was organized by FPIK IPB. This activity according to him is the first time IPB synergized state defense program with TNI AU 024. According to him, training of national defence and character building is necessary to be done for young generation’s provision in the future. The future expectation is other faculties in IPB also can synergize with TNI AU 024 in the national defense debriefing for students. “This training taught students to not be selfish, to be unite, to be honest, and to have high morale,” concluded Commander of Skatek TNI AU 024.
