The Return Visit of IPB Delegation to FELCRA Malaysia

The delegation of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) conducted a reciprocal visit to FELCRA Malaysia on 3-4 December 2018 as a follow-up to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on 26 October. The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YB. Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Haron.

The delegation was received by Pengusiusi (Chairman) of FELCRA Berhad, YBhg. Datuk Nageeb Wahab. IPB delegation was led by IPB Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Prof. Dr. Agus Purwito.

The IPB delegation then held a meeting with Datuk Nageeb and FELCRA Berhad CEO, YBhg. Encik Mohd Nazrul Izam Mansor. Also present at the meeting were Chair of Corporate Communications Officer of FELCRA Berhad, YBrs, Encik Mohammad Ab Rahman and Executive Chair of the College of of FELCRA, YBrs. Dr. Zaini Jamaluddin.

Partnership assessment between IPB and FELCRA mainly talked about the program and activity development between vocational school of FELCRA Kolej and SV-IPB, partnership development in research and student and lecturer exchange. IPB Delegation consisted of Dr. Arief Daryanto (Dean of Vocational School IPB), Dr. Wawan Oktariza (Vice Dean for Resources, Partnership, and Development of Vocational School IPB), Dr. Ir. Suwarto, MS. (Head of Plantation Production Technology and Management), and Dr. Dase Hunaefi (Directorate of International Program).

FELCRA Berhad is a company that is fully owned by Malaysian Government under the coordination of Ministry of Finance. FELCRA (Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority) was built to develop the rural areas by helping them participate in the national economic activity. The purpose was to create a dynamic, attractive, and beneficial rural sector.

In order to develop the human resources in the rural areas, FELCRA has an education body named FELCRA Kolej that offers a certified program and diploma in Plantation Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Early Childhood Education, Accounting, Business and Entrepreneurship.
