Rector of Mindanao State University Visits IPB

The rector of Mindanao State University (MSU), Dr. Habib W Macaayong visited Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This visit was motivated by Mindanao State University's enthusiasm to establish partnership with IPB. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed by the two institutions at November 2018. This visit was done to further discuss about the partnership.

Also present in this visit was the wife of MSU's Rector, Pamela B Macaayong, Presidential Assistent International Linkages, Dr. Renato S Pacaldo, and the Special Assistant International Linkage, Dr. Evelyn V Bigcas.

IPB Rector, Dr. Arif Satria cordially welcomed the visit. Dr. Arif said that IPB and MSU will establish a partnership in forestry and environment sectors. "We also need partner for our professors' and students' mobility programs. Our vast number of professors and students can be our advantage. They want to study more. As for IPB, we can learn from the new things owned by MSU for our advancement. This partnership will empower the universities in ASEAN," said Dr. Arif.

The Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Syarifah Iis Aisyah had an opportunity to share about various innovative products. Dr. Iis said, "The guests from MSU were very interested about IPB's innovations. MSU also shared the information about their innovations."

Dr. Lailan Syaufina, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs of IPB's Faculty of Forestry, who was the one initiating the partnership, said, "The friendship between IPB and MSU's professors have long been personally fostered. Not long ago, MSU expressed the interest to establish partnership as an institution."

During this visit, there was a meeting between the rectors to further talk about the partnership. IPB has already been asked to host The Second International Conference in collaboration with Katsamonu University, Turkey and Biotrop which will be held in Bogor.

Also present to welcome the guests were the Vice Rector of Collaboration and Information System, Prof. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, Vice Rector of Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto, Director of International Programs, Prof. Dr. Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar, Dean of Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi, Vice Dean of Resources, Collaboration and Development of Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Naresworo Nugroho, Head of Sub-Directorate of International Program Service, Dr. Sintho Wahyuning Ardie.
