A total of 40 IPB Employees Practice as Master of Ceremony
The collaboration of two work units at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), namely the Communication Bureau and the Directorate of Human Resources, held "Training of Master of Ceremony (MC)" at the Papyrus Hotel, Bogor, Wednesday-Thursday (31/10-1/11). This training was attended by 40 employees from work units within the IPB. This activity was intended to prepare participants to become a dynamic professional host which has high confidence.
In this training, participants learned how the attitude of a good MC is, how to use the power of voice and intonation when delivering a program, how to make proper gestures and body language, how to talk inspirationally and stunningly. Participants also learned various techniques and tips to eliminate the fear of public speaking, to melt the atmosphere and to give color to the event that takes place.
Head of IPB Communication Bureau, Ir. Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Sc, said, "This training is very needed at IPB. There are many activities or official events held by IPB that really need a reliable host."
This training emphasized practice so that all participants were able to train maximally with a guidance from a professional speaker, Mey Cresentya.
Mey stressed to all participants, "The MC is the spearhead of the event. They will lead a series of events regularly and neatly. Their ability will greatly determine whether an event will take place smoothly or stagnant. Therefore, an MC must master all aspects that will affect the smoothness of the event. They are a director of an event. "
Mey also emphasized that an MC must have high intelligence, personality and good characters, be attractive, sympathetic and polite, have a soul of a leader, as well as speak well, communicatively and skillfully.
"Being an MC is not enough by just having good voice capital, but there are many supports that need to be taken seriously. An MC will be the center of attention as an artist who appears on stage. Therefore, to look attractive and pleasing to the eye is a must," she said. (Awl/ZSP/Zul)
