Exchange your Waste in Faculty of Agriculture and Get Attractive Gifts
The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), again carried out the FAPERTA TUMPAH. FAPERTA tumpah is one of the work programs of the Department of Environment students in collaboration with the Department of Advocacy and Student Welfare. FAPERTA Tumpah was held at the Faculty of Agriculture's Node Media Center, Campus IPB Dramaga, Bogor (10/10) the program was carried out by Faculty of Agriculture BEM interns 2018.
Faperta Tumpah invited the entire IPB community to care about plastic waste, namely by exchanging trash of two 600 ml size mineral water bottles and one 1500 ml bottle with various attractive prizes provided. Not just exchanging bottles, participants are required to take part in some interesting games to get prizes. The prizes provided are fresh fruits, non-packaged drinking bottles, lunch boxes, stationery, and decorative glasses. In this event, the IPB community was also facilitated to refill drinking water, so that the IPB community was more concerned with using bottled water bottles to reduce plastic bottle waste.
Not only students, many people around IPB participated in this activity. From these activities plastic bottles have been collected around four large garbage bags which will be processed and reused into useful items. This activity was also accompanied by an Environmental Ambassador from the Agriculture Faculty who campaigned on caring for the environment with real small actions.
"Thank God, the Faperta Tumpah event was welcomed by the people of IPB, especially the Faculty of Agriculture students. Hopefully in the future there will be more activities in waste management. Our hope is that the awareness of IPB residents to reduce and recycle plastic bottle waste is increasing, "said the Project of the FAPERTA Tumpah, Putri Pebriyanti.
The enthusiasm of the participants was also very good, because Faperta Tumpah itself was designed in such a way with fun and interesting games. According to some participants who came, this kind of activity was very useful, and they hoped that this kind of activity could continue in the future. (Jhn)
