Enny Sampurno, Vice President of Customer Development of PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk had the opportunity to give motivation to students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in Inspiring Unileader 2018 event at the Andi Hakim Nasoetion Auditorium, Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor (7/9). To deal with this desruption era, Enny explained a topic, namely Unleash Your Potential: DNA to Success.

This activity was organized by the collaboration between the Professional Association of the Center of Management, the Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), and PT. Unilever Tbk. The Center of Management annually holds similar activities which aim to make IPB students identify their interests and talents. On this occasion PT. Unilever opened an internship opportunity for students who attended the event and they can directly send their CVs at this event.

Head of the Management Department of IPB, Dr. Wita Juwita Ermawati, STP, MM, hoped the resource person could provide her experiences and tips in the business world to IPB students. In addition, this activity was also a good opportunity for IPB students to get direct motivation from the leader of PT. Unilever.

"The title has looked motivating. A lot of knowledge and insight will be obtained by the students. Is it true that each of us has DNA of success? All participants who join today's activity are able to optimize the potential that exists in us. Living in this era needs tricks and strategies. We will explore how we optimize successful DNA and energy to prepare that success," she said.

In front of IPB students, Enny began her lecture with her childhood story of living in the city of Rembang and being used to dream to work in a skyscraper. According to her, everyone must have a dream. "Keep dreaming, somehow it happens. Nowadays the world is changing very fast, there is disruption everywhere. I used to see news only on television. But now we will get information on various events in any part of the world quickly. The world is very opened, and information is available for anyone at any time," she said.

Likewise that technical jobs are now being taken over by robots. Humans must have more abilities and skills more than technical ones. But on the other hand, in this technological era, there is a new opportunity to be able to compete with digital technology where anyone can make products anywhere. This is not only a trap but also an opportunity.

"Next century, successful people are not because of school, but because they want to learn new things. You have to be beyond your technical skill and inner game. Key of success includes talent catalys. The key to succeed in business is how to become a talent catalyst. We must work with other people and with different people and welcome to any differences. Never be stingy to share knowledge. Technical skills can be learned. Do not be smart just only for yourself," said the mother of two children.

According to her, we must follow what the consumers love and put consumers at heart. If we have an idea in work or entrepreneurship, we must know who we will serve. Gojek is very successful because it is able to answer the needs of consumers. Consumers need reliable fast transportation.

"Besides that, another important thing is passion for high performance. Imagine if the workplace is our own company. We have to have an owner mindset in which we want changes to progress. Meanwhile, inner game is another thing that is very important for the quality of yourself, purpose and service. Works from purpose for the good of others. Salary, money and position will not be enough to be a reward. We will be tired if we only focus on promotion and money. We have to find a sustainable pleasure," he said.

Another key is personal mastery: always bring the best self. Well being resilience maintains a balance between well-being and health. We also have to be opened to change, want to learn new things, and want to experiment. "Those are the DNA keys of today," she said.

In this event the photo contest winners were also announced. The photo contest was in the form of uploading photos on Instagram about the use of Unilever products. The winners were Sulthanazdi and Hary from the Department of Management and Kania from the Faculty of Forestry of IPB.

Besides Enny, this activity also presented other resource persons, namely Shopper Marketing Manager of PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk, Yogie Santoso. Yogie is an alumni of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of IPB in 2005. Yogie shared his experience since being graduated from IPB until joining Unilever. (dh/ZSP/Zul)
