Following up on the Business Opportunity Matching event conducted by the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Institute of Research and Community Service Incubator (IncuBie) with Taiwan Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Incubator at the end of 2017, in 2018, IncuBie was invited by CYCU collaborates with Beijing Global View Technology (GVTI) to attend a Business Incubation Workshop in Beijing (24-29 / 7). The theme of this workshop is The Belt and Road, ASEAN Innovation Entrepreneurship.

The aim of the workshop was to find out the concept of innovative start-up development in Beijing through the incubator program and Science Technology Park (STP), see start-ups and innovative products in Beijing, and initiation of start-up development cooperation through the Co Incubation Program (program cross-country incubation cooperation).

The workshop participants are 20 persons who are incubator / STP managers come from four countries, namely Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The Indonesian delegation consisted of five people (one person per Incubator), namely from IncuBie IPB, Bina Nusantara, Yogyakarta State University, Trilogy University, and Padjadjaran University. The workshop participants from IncuBie were represented by Deva Primadia Almada, SPi, MSi who was the Head of the IncuBie Incubation Program Division.

The series of 6-day workshop activities was conducted through visits as well as presentation and discussion to various stakeholders and companies related to the development of innovative start-ups in Beijing. Among others, GVT Co. Ltd., Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Ministry of Science and Technology, China Plug and Play, Zhongguancun Science Park, Haidian Science Park and Wistron (companies in technology and information).

Start-up development in China is fully supported by the government and stakeholders. China has around 200 STP and one STP has dozens of business incubators with hundreds of tenants (start-up assisted) each incubator.

"The Ministry of Technology Research in China provides annual operational funds to STP and business incubators, as well as seed capital to tenants in the context of innovative start-up growth. The amount of funds given varies depending on the needs of each STP / business incubator. Monitoring and evaluation is carried out on each performance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including the growth of start-ups / innovative industries on a national and international scale. Start-ups or innovative industries that grow from STP / Business Incubators will be given a tax free policy, "Deva said.

At the end of the program, the GVTI called on all participants to be able to cooperate with the Chinese side through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between institutions in the framework of cross-country co-incubation programs in the form of cooperation in technology, investment and marketing.(jhn)
