IPB Cooporates with National Defense Council for State Defense

MOU of Cooperation and State Defense of National Defense Council-Bogor Agricultural University was signed on IPB International Convention Center (IICC), 8 June 2018. The signing between two Institutions was conducted by Lieutenant General TNI, Doni Monardo as Secretary General of National Defense Council and Dr. Arif Satria as the Rector of IPB. The five-year collaboration will focus on coverage of Tridharma aspects of education, education, and research and community service.

The event begins with the signing of the manuscript then followed by greetings from each institution.

In his speech, Doni said that National Defense Council trusts IPB institutionally related to environmental and food that is considered to support the implementation of state defense. Doni intends to develop local food commodity of each area that has good quality to increase community's economic growth. "I believe IPB can establish cooperation and exchange knowledge with universities in each region in order to develop regional agricultural commodities that are not less competitive," said Doni. Doni also said that he considered to involved society in the practice of state defense with the help of military personnel. The preparation of the initial cooperation program leads to the cooperation of Thematic Work Lecture (KKN) , Citarum Harum Program and Citarum River Basin Replacement (DAS).

Meanwhile, Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria admitted that he had taken the first step to welcome the program by placing students in the Citarum watershed. Some of our students have been there to carry out KKN activities, said Arif Satria. (jhn)
