Students of MAN 1 Bekasi Enthusiastically Visited Bogor Agricultural University Campus

The serial program for Goes to Campus event was held by MAN 1 Bekasi. The program has successfully brought MAN 1, Bekasi, students to come to visit Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) campus, on Tuesday, 3 April 2018. The visit was warmly received by the Head of Promotion Section, of the Communication Bureau of IPB, Dr.drh. Mokhamad Fahrudin, at IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor.

The first items of the Goes to Campus Program was the introduction on the life in the IPB campus. The opening remarks was presented by Mr. Jajat Suharto as a representative of MAN 1 Bekasi. "Visiting campus is an important step in making the right university decision. Learn how to make your campus visit a valuable experience with these tips," he stated in his remarks.

In the first session of the program, Dr. drh. Fahrudin, presented brief information on IPB. He explained the importance of creativity in processing of abundant natural resources in Indonesia. Indonesia has an abundance of both renewable (agricultural products) and nonrenewable (mining and minerals) natural resources. It must be able to optimize the handling of its natural resources by increasing a processing industry that will provide high added value, while at the same time reducing exports of raw materials, especially in agricultural products. "We can’t be silent. Otherwise we will be buyers of their products," he explained.

Then,  detailed information on the nine Faculties of IPB was presented in the second session. The event was hosted by the two IPB Ambassadors, namely Fifi Muslimah and Muhammad Murtadha Ramadan. Students' were very enthusiastic as expressed in the  question and answer session, they raised various questions.

At the end of the second session, souvenirs were handed over to the representative of both the MAN 1 Bekasi and IPB as a token of appreciation. Appreciations were also presented for students who had been active in the question and answer session, and finally  the group photo.  

The event was terminated by lunch together and a guided campus tour to learn more about the campus. The students were amazed to know the various facilities available in the campus during the guided tour, especially the IPB Main Library. "Well-equipped and spacious," said Dika, one of the teachers who took part in the tour. (Wied)
