Rector of IPB and Minister of Research and Technology of Indonesia Signed Performance Contract of PTN-BH 2018
Rector of Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria, signed the performance contract of State University of Legal Entity (PTN-BH) with Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). The signing of Performance Contracts in 2018 between IPB and Kemenristekdikti was implemented in Kemenristekdikti Office, Jakarta, on 21 March 2018. Similar Performance Contract by Minister of Research and Technology with Rectors of other PTNBH were also carried out simultaneously.
This performance contract aimed at improving the professional performance of PTN-BH's to become a university with its global reputation. Namely with increased staff mobility, student mobility, publicity and innovation.
On that occasion, the Minister of Research and Technology, Mohamad Nasir, stated that according to the Kemenristekdikti data, currently there are about 5600 professors, but only 1551 professors have published their research articles in international publications.
"There needs to increase the balance between value added activity and non value added activity. In addition to the research data, of the total number of lecturers who have published and have been indexed in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) database, are only 75,000 lecturers. Oour data show that the number of our lecturers is about 250,000. We should encourage them to be more productive for the international publications," he said.
In addition, the accredited study program internationally will be pursued by Kemenristekdikti so no more local accreditation by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN PT) will be granted. Kemenristekdikti also encourage all research from university researchers must produce innovations and they should be able to become an industry to ultimately be beneficial to society.
For nomenclature, will be arranged according to science. The naming of titles will be the authority of each university. Kemristekdikti will only issue globally whether the title of Bachelor or Applied Bachelor Degree, Magister or Applied Master Degree, Doctor or Applied Doctorate. Related licensing the establishment of new courses, the authority is in Kemenristekdikti (Directorate General of Institutional) or Rector of PTN-BH, "he said.
With regard to the higher education of IPB, Minister M. Nasir said IPB is required to prepare a proposal for the development of laboratories for the year 2019. Homebase development of laboratories minimal at the level of the Department. (Wied)
