IPB Students from Tanggamus and Pringsewu Promotes Their University during Holiday
Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) students from Student Association (OMDA) of Tanggamus and Pringsewu held a Gold Midus Campus Expo Chapter 2 recently. The Midus Campus Expo Chapter 2 was a program of introduction and socialization of IPB for senior high school students in the districts of Pringsewu and Tanggamus. Gold Midus Campus Expo Chapter 2 consisted of three activities: Midus Goes To School, Gold Midus Pre-Event and Gold Midus Campus Expo.
Midus Goes To School was a socialization activity of IPB to high school students in Pringsewu and Tanggamus districts. Socialization was done to 35 senior high schools (SMA) located in Pringsewu, Tanggamus, Pesawaran and surrounding areas. More than 750 students participated in this activity.
"It's great opportunity to be able to get a lot of information about IPB and campus life. It really helps us to consider our choices about majors that we will decide for SNMPTN and SBMPTN," said one student of class XII IPA 1 from SMAN 1 Gadingrejo.
There is also suggestion from various high school principals about this activity.
"This socialization activities of IPB and lectures greatly motivate my students in the selection of majors. It is very good program of the student organization of the region. They spend their holiday by providing their knowledge and experience to younger generation in their high schools. May this socialization be able to keep existing," said Counselling Teacher of SMAN 2 Kota Agung.
Gold Midus Pre-Event was a series of inter-school competition events. The competition consisted of Photo Challenge contest, short story competition, School Mading competition and Rice Eating from Analog Rice competition. This pre-event was conducted to provoke students to continue to pursue both academic and non-academic achievements.
Gold Midus Campus Expo was a closing activity consisting of Try Out of SBMPTN, Talk show and Expo activities. The talk show speakers were Ambassadors of the Institute and Alumni of IPB, namely Irsyad Al Ghifari (IPB Ambassador and FEM Excellent tudent) and Meyliana Astriyantika, S.Hut, M.Si (Alumni of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism Department of IPB).
Try Out of SBMPTN was a simulation where the result of this activity could be served as a benchmark in the real test of SBMPTN 2018, so that the students had the provision and experience to solve the questions. The subjects consisted of general ability (Mathematics, Bahasa Indonesia and English), Natural Science and Social Science. Expo consisted of information booth about IPB. (TK)
