Student of Marine Technology Studies Program, of the Department of Marine Science and Technology, of the  Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Bogor Agricultural University (FPIK IPB), successfully made continuous achievements  towards the end of 2017. This time, Angga Dwinovantyo, the student of Program Magister menuju Doktor untuk Sarjana Unggul (PMDSU Master Degree Program leading to Doctorate Program for Excellence Students) on Marine Technology Study Program, was awarded the Best Student Presentation Award in the Asian scientific conference at 2017 The Eleventh Annual Meeting of Asian Fisheries Acoustic Society (AFAS), in Guangzhou, China, on 13-15 November 2017.

Angga successfully won the award at this prestigious conference of marine acoustics in Asia, which was attended by 96 participants from 11 countries, Japan, Indonesia, China, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Norway, Malaysia, USA, and Canada. During which he presented his scientific article on "Spatial and Temporal Variation of Zooplankton Backscattering Strength from Mobile ADCP Data." In this annual event, Angga was the only Indonesian representative who successfully won the award, which was usually  dominated by participants from Japan, Korea and China.

In addition, Angga also was also granted the similar award at the Regional Conference on Acoustics and Vibration (RECAV), carried out on 27-28 November 2017, in Denpasar, Bali. Angga is the recipient of Best Presenter Award and 2nd Best Student Paper given by Association of Acoustics and Vibration Indonesia (AAVI), Society of Acoustics Singapore (SAS), Acoustical Society of America (ASA), Institute of Technology of Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

The scientific event, on "Enhancing Acoustics and Vibration Research, Education, and Professionalism in Global Community" was participated by several researchers on acoustics and vibrations from several countries, including Australia, Belgium, Chile, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, and UK.

The participants werre divided into several topics: Engineering Acoustics, Machinery and Vibration Control, Signal Processing in Acoustics, Underwater Acoustics, Materials for Noise and Vibration Control, and others. The title of the research program Angga presented for this international event was on "Application of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) to Observe Diel Vertical Migration of Zooplankton." This study was part of PMDSU research which had been supervised by  Prof. Henry M. Manik; Dr. Tri Prartono;, and Dr. Susilohadi. (Wied)
