Three students of Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (FEM IPB), Maulida Aulia Rezki, Retno Khoirunnisa, and Annisa Permata, won the First Place in Business Plan Competition of SELASAR SRIWIJAYA held some time ago. The event of the Business Plan Competition was part of a series of SELASAR SRIWIJAYA activities organized by Student Executive Board, Sriwijaya University.

 In her business plan idea, Maulida and the team raised the tofu production byproduct made into a healthy snack. “What we raise is the utilization of the residual of byproduct of the tofu production i.e. the dregs of tofu to be the healthy snack (the chips of the dregs of tofu) named TAKE! This idea is not optimum background of the utilization of the dregs of tofu that is not yet optimal, even polluting the environment, especially the river. We find various news that there is the pollution in the river near the traditional tofu production house in Bogor area. So, we try to make this business idea to be able to give added value to the tofu business,” explained Retno at length.

 Retno added, not just the aspects of writing and presentation, but also the business problem solving and the sharpening business knowledge. “So, we not only have to present but also demand to be able to think quickly in completing a business case and qualified in the business knowledge / theory,” she asserted.

 With the idea that successfully delivered Maulida and team to become the First Winner in the national business planning competition. It was a proud achievement for the team and the alma mater. “The process of winning is certainly not easy, we work according to each skills, which are in charge in the production and the packaging, the finance and specially the writing proposal. Other than that, the three of us are the members of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Century who are focused on the entrepreneurial activities. The competition is very tight, every contestant brings the creative and innovative idea both in the fields of food products, processed, hand creation services and others,” explained Retno.

 There were several other activities in a series of events such as the Sriwijaya Games, the Business Plan Competition, the Sriwijaya Science Debate, the Sriwijaya Leaders Forum, and the Ampera Culture Fest. Around 85 teams competed in the business planning contest. The team sending the business proposal was selected by the committee and announced the finalists and followed a series of the final rounds at Sriwijaya University. (IRM/ris)
