Students of IPB Commemorate the International Earth Day In Indramayu, West Java

Student of Department of Fishery Resources Utilization (PSP) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Bogor Agricultural University (FPIK IPB) tried to apply innovation game of fishery and marine education. This creative innovation game is “Jagoan Anak Nelayan Nusantara”, and usually it is shortened into  Jantra. As the educational games play  such as Snakes and Ladders  system, they look a bit like fishery and marine material.

Jantra game consists of 30 plots inside the board game, 1 dice, and 4 types of cards. This creative innovation game content that uses a combination of different content forms such as marine, fisheries, ports, and the environment. In Jantra dice games are used differently from dice in general. In general dice are numbered, according to the number of sides (e.g. 1 to 6 on a 6 sided die), but the dice for Jantra symbols of marine, fishery, harbor, and environmental contents are put instead of number as appear in general dice.

There are the "prohibited" symbol at startup of the games, those are restricted zones in fisheries and marine world. “Jagoan Anak Nelayan Nusantara” was the latest program exploring the Maritime Education Based on Environment. This program was delivered through the method of the nautical educational game and the game system that emphasized the students to improve the cognitive and psichomotoric aspects, so that the educational game could be played by attracting, educating, and being dynamic. It is expected that in the future such game could be made to the local content, and will be adopted by the wider audience, beginning from SD in Eretan, Indramayu, to the whole Indonesia.

Faki, one of MI Al-Ikhlas students who used to play online games stated that he got bored went to school. But when he had his Jantra game faceon he expressed his joy. "I am very happy to play Jantra together with my friends and students of  IPB," he said.

Pramesa, her friends usually called Ames, is another student from MI Al-Ikhlas. She  had been very happy because she had opportunity to spend her spare time playing Jantra game. In the inaugural game yesterday, Jantra provided added value for its contents by providing point of Compass Year reading skills.  There are four basic types of tasks that focus on identifying similarities to be submitted gradually through the Jantra game in PKMM Jantra IPB 2017 program.

"As the visualization and process understanding of material a visualization of material for Jantra to audiences, as well as to commemorate the International Earth Day, on 23 April,  the Organizing Committee invited the youths to play in nature. We brought them to explore our surrounding environment, from our houses, sewers, ponds, and around the mangrove forest. In addition, the Organizing Committee also invited  children of the fishermen of Eretan, Indramayu, to learn how important to conserve our environment, and mangrove forest.
