The Awarding Night for IPB Scholarship Donators

As a form of thanks and appreciation Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to scholarship donators, IPB's Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) held a Tribute Niht fo IPB's Scholarship Contributors 2016. This tribute night was held at IPB International Convention Center (IICC) Bogor, (30 / 11). Present on this occasion wer IPB's Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Yonny Koesmaryono and IPB'd Vice Rector of Research and Cooperatio, Prof. Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi.

Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Sugeng Santoso said this event is also held to strengthen relationship with the donators who have helped with IPB's student scholarships. He said, 40 % of IPB student, who are from all over Indonesia, need scholarships.

"This year the scholarship has been given to 8705 students, with a total fund of Rp 87, 494 billion from 39 institutions or donors," he said

Head of IPB's Sub-Directorate of Student Welfare Ditmawa IPB, Dr. Katrin Roosita said this event is an appreciation to the donors of IPB's scholarships. They have been providing assistance with the student welfare in various forms such as living cost, educational fee, single educatioal fee (UKT), soft skills, character building, and encouraging students to perform community empowerment and entrepreneurship.

So far donors have provided scholarships with different requirements. Mostly it is for outstanding students who can not afford. It is also for those with high achievement or being active in  student organization," said Dr Katrin.

She hopes the scholarship for IPB students can continue to rise because the future educational and living costs will increase, thus this will relieve  the economically disadvantaged parents. (Mtd)
