Gendhing Sriwijaya, Angklung, Kecak and Betawi Dances for Cultural Evening for The 23rd Tri-U IJSS

The Indonesian Cultural Night or evening in Darmaga with cultural performances of Indonesia was one of the items in the program for The 23rd Tri-U International Joint Seminar and Symposium (IJSS). The cultural evening was performed nicely by the students of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) in the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, on Tuesday, 25 October 2016.
Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Sugeng Santoso, in his remark stated that the Indonesian cultural performance was actually the expression of IPB students’ passion for their art and culture. Hopefully, the performances will provide insight of the Indonesian culture for the audiences. It is expected that the such cultural evening was the promotion of Indonesia's cultural diversity to enable the international audiences experience the wealth of Indonesian culture.
The Cultural and Artistic Night presented some of the traditional dances of Indonesia that included the opening and Betawi dances by Student Activity Unit (UKM) of IPB “Gentra Kaheman”, Gendhing Sriwijaya dance by Regional Student Organization (Omda) “Ikamusi Palembang”, angklung performances by Student of Competency General of Education Program (PPKU) of IPB, and Kecak dance by Omda Bali. Concluded the cultural evening was the fashion show traditional costumes of Indonesia which is featured with unique patterns and beautiful. (Wied)
