Forum of Muslim Students and Islamic Studies (Formasi), Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held the National Seminar on "Hijrah on Progress" in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Campus of IPB Darmaga, Saturday (15/10). This event was the culmination of a series of The 1st Funtastic held for two months.

Chairman of the Committee, Fathin Ahmad Naufal, said that this event aimed to facilitate the students in channeling their wishes to hijrah towards the better. "Hijrah will have a significant meaning, if it is based on the sincere spirit and intention," he concluded.

The event which was oriented on this missionary endeavour was welcomed by Achmad Firman Wahyudi, S.E., M.Si. as the representative of the Deanship of FEM of IPB. He hoped that the output from this event was that the hijrah was not only done by oneself but also invited others. "There are three things that must be done within the hijrah i.e. change, increase, and improve towards the better," he said.

In this event, being presented three speakers namely Ustad Tengku Hanan Attaki, the Founder of Gerakan Pemuda Hijrah as the Key Speaker; Shireen Sungkar, the Indonesian Actress; and Dalu Nuzlul Kirom, the Founder of Gerakan Melukis Harapan Dolly as the speakers in the talkshow session. The three speakers shared their experiences when preaching and hijrah.

Ustad Tengku Hanan Attaki was the figure of youth who had the courage to preach in the presence of the largest motorcycle gang in Bandung. According to him, the preaching should not be equated with ta'lim, where the ustad delivered his message on the podium or pulpit. "The missionary endeavour is to build a system of change not to enliven the majelis ta'lim. I dare myself to build the system by associating with them and inviting them to hijrah," said the graduate of Al Azhar University of Egypt.

In contrast with the stories of Dalu and Shireen. Dalu was an activist who had been stuck with the environment. He called that the hijrah was a turning point, where there was a meeting between the opportunity to the signs of Allah SWT. While Shireen, an actress who decided to change her appearance to be wearing the hijab said that it needed a great struggle to hijrah. Moreover previously we had been familiar with the work environment demanded to dress as requested by the film. "But do not be afraid to change for the good. Deciding to wear the hijab is not wrong and it will not affect our work, because our fortune is arranged by Allah," said the Award Winner of Favorite Actress of the version of SCTV Awards 2008-2010 and Panasonic Awards 2009.

The event which was attended by 214 participants previously had done the National Competition which was followed by Universities and Senior Highschools (SMA) in Indonesia, namely Writing Short Stories, Designing Muslim Clothing, and Photography as well as Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) of FEM in preparing the caravan in MTQ of IPB. At this top event, there was also the award referral to the winners of the competitions. (IM)
