Team of partnerships with villages around the campus of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) arrived in Kampong Babakan Raya of Babakan Village, Dramaga District of Bogor Regency, on Saturday (28/5). This was together with the activity of Environment-Loving Development (BCL) by hundreds of students from the General Competency Program (PPKU). They were together with the local residents cleaning the environment and planting tree seedlings.
 
Babakan Village Secretary, Yani, welcomed the activity, initiated by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB. "We hope IPB to continue to develop villages around the campus, which will eventually encourages people to love the environment," he said.
 
The group leader, Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said the partnership program with the villages around the campus is a gathering forum of IPB with the villagers around the campus. According to him, the programs offered by IPB to the community can be successful if all people are willing to support and implement a good working creativity.
 
On this occasion, Dr. Arif remind parents to attend to the children’s breakfast in the morning. "Learning will not be successful with our children having empty stomachs on learning. Breakfast in the morning is a major factor and is very important for our children before going to school. With breakfast, they will be able to think and learn well," he explained.
 
In this activity, the IPB team introduced the Garbage Bank program delivered by Rizal Bahtiar, Spi, M.Si, a lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB; the program of the Prosperous Family Service Center (PPKS) by Ir. Endah Dwi Rahayu, a representative of Agrianita IPB; and free health services by a doctor from Dhuafa Wallet team. In addition, a donation was also given to 20 orphans, and equipment to Posyandu and Majlis Ta’lim.
 
Present in this activity were Head of LPPM, Dr. Prastowo; Chairman of BCL-IPB Dr. I Wayan Astika, administrators of Agrianita IPB; and a number of supervising lecturers. (Mtd)
