Initiation of Collaborations with UPMC of France Research Teams
To initiate research collaboration program between Indonesia (IPB, P2O-LIPI, Institute for Marine Research & Observation = BPOL-KKP) and France (Legos and Université Pierre et Marie Curie / UPMC), Department of Marine Sciences and Technology (ITK) of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) organized an international series seminar, on Thursday, 19 May 2016, in the Function room of ITK Department, IPB Campus, Drmaga, Bogor. The International Seminar invited the following resource persons: Dr. Tri Prartono, the researcher on marine biogeochemistry of IPB; Dr. Pascal Conan of UPMC, France; and Dr. A’an J. Wahyudi of Research Center for Oceanography-IIS (P2O-LIPI).
Topics presented at the seminar included nutrient regeneration in the area ARLINDO, impacts of biogeochemistry on climate change in the Mediterranean Sea, and the prospects and challenges in biogeochemistry researches. In addition, other topics such as microbial ecotoxicology by Meutia Samira Ismet, M.Sc. of IPB and Prof. Jean-Francois Ghiglione of UPMC were also presented in the international seminar.
This international seminar is open to public, especially academician of IPB, and community members of the Department of ITK of FPIK IPB. All but the first international seminar were followed by roundtable discussions to discuss the prospects of research cooperation between IPB, UPMC, and P2O-LIPI. (Wied)
