Library of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in cooperation with Bank Indonesia (BI) held a talk show "Agricultural Financing Related to Financial Inclusion", on Thursday (19/5), at the Library of Darmaga Campus IPB Bogor. Rector Prof. Herry Suhardiyanto said, so far IPB has continued making studies on the access of farmers to the financial assistance from banks. According to him, farmers have a uniqueness that cannot be equated with a company.

On this occasion, Rector expressed his appreciation for Bank Indonesia which has provided support in the form of BI Corner at the library. This, he said, can help faculty members and students in improving academic activities.

Deputy Communications Director of BI, Iwan Setiawan said that BI, besides taking care of serious issues such as monetary control, also has social programs related to the goal of making Indonesian people intelligent. Last year BI set up 106 BI Corners, this year 150, and next year 1,000. Related to the strategic food security program, BI has implemented it in Manggarai of East Nusa Tenggara, covering an area of 36 hectares.

"With the BI Corners, Indonesian students are expected to know BI. Hopefully BI Corner in IPB is not a decoration, but it can be a place for sharing knowledge among IPB community members," he said.

The cooperation between IPB’s Library and BI has been initiated by providing text books from Bank Indonesia related to economic problems. The talk show was moderated by the Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB, Dr. Lukman M Baga. (Mtd)
