Student Alumni Association of SIL Held the Seminar on Profession

 Student Alumni Association of Civil and Environmental Engineering (IAMSIL) held a seminar on profession themed “Pengenalan Dunia Kerja Sektor Konstruktion Setelah Lulus Sarjana / Introduction of Working World of Construction Sector After Graduation”, Sunday (28/2) in Auditorium of Abdul Moeis Nasoetion, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The event was opened by Chairman of IAMSIL, Aditya Fajar M, ST, Chairman of Student Association of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Himatesil), Cahyandika Yoga Pratama, and Chairman of Event, Rahmat Kurniawan ST. This activity was attended by the students of SIL Batch 49 to SIL Batch 52.
 
This activity provided seminars, sharing and tips when looking for work and while in the work environment, especially in the field of construction. As already known, one of the student graduate prospects of SIL was working in the field of construction. Final data on the tracer study showed that 80 percent of the alumni of SIL worked in the field of engineering, especially the construction engineering or the civil engineering.
 
The event which was held specifically for the students of SIL was a concern of alumni against the alma mater especially Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SIL). This activity was divided into three sessions with three main speakers. The three speakers were the alumni of SIL who were successfully to have career in their respective fields.
 
The first session was filled by Rahmat Kurniawan, ST about around the working world in general. At the second session, there were three speakers namely Anton Suwito, S.T, Aditya Fajar Jenie, S.T and Jurizka Jhamastri, S.T discussing about the company’s recuritment process, the requirements and qualifications to be accepted in the company, the working experience in the field, the management and the project financial, as well as other matters related to the world of construction.
 
The third session was a discussion session about experiences and tips in order to continue to study abroad. This session was filled by Joan Kartini R, ST, M.Eng (the alumni of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), Maulana Ibrahim Rau, ST, M.Sc (the alumni of University of Glasgow, United Kingdom), and Erbi Setiawan, ST (the student of Wageningen University, Netherlands).
 
The plan was, this activity would be held regularly every year and cooperated with Himatesil of IPB. Chairman of Department of SIL, Dr. Nora H. Pandjaitan, said that this activity had the full support from Department of SIL because it gave an overview of graduate working prospect of SIL in real and provided the supplies as well as the insights before entering the working world. It was expected, the next activity could bring other alumni which were successful in their respective working areas.***
