Bogor Agricultural University to Host the XVIII IMAKAHI National Conference

Ikatan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Hewan Indonesia (IMAKAHI – Indonesian Veterinary Student Association) of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) hosted the national conference on IMAKAHI XVIII. The theme of the current conference is "Know the Challenges and Future Veterinary Choose Your Career with IMAKAHI". The event was held at three locations, namely the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH IPB), Wisma BPSDM Kemendagri, and Taman Safari Cisarua, Bogor, on 19-25 January 2016.

 

Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Muhammad Faruq Izzuddien, stated that the conference was participated by the Executive Boards of the Association, the Governing Board Members, Executives of IMAKAHI Chapters, and members. Presented in the conference among others delegates of FKH IPB, FKH of the University of Syiah Kuala, FKH of the University of Gajah Mada, FKH of Airlangga University, FKH of University of Brawijaya, FKH of West Nusa Tenggara, FKH of Universitas Udayana, FKH of Universitas Nusa Cendana, FKH of Hasanuddin University, and the FKH of University Wijaya Kusuma, Surabaya. In addition, also present in the national event delegates of related veterinary profession in Indonesia.

 

Muhammad Faruq stated that a noble profession of veterinarians is in charge of keeping human health through the monitoring and control of way of maintenance of animal health. They also work to keep poultry healthy and preventing endemic infections. In addition, they have also to cure ill animals and control measures of the trade animals between regions.

 

"As time goes by, the veterinarians are expected to be responsible safeguarding public health. Even help measure how changes in environmental factors affect animal health, most important of all the preservation of the germplasm in their natural environment for the conservation of our nature toward global warming, "he said.
