The Participation of Foreign Student to Manage the Forum Wacana of IPB
The Executive Committee of Forum Wacana (the School of the Graduate Studies’ Student Forum) of IPB (Bogor Agricultural University) has elected Mujiburrahman as Chairman of the Forum Wacana for period 2015/2016. The appointment of Mr. Mujiburrahman, student of Master Degree Program on Economics, was based on the recommendations made by the XIIIth Forum Wacana of IPB Annual Congress.
Mujiburrahman stated that under his leadership Forum Wacana of IPB will focus on two major objectives, namely external and internal objectives. For external objectives, it will be guarding the national legislative program which is currently designed by the House of Representatives (DPR). The Forum decided to take this objective as it is really in accordance with the IPB core program, as well as to respond the strategic issues initiated by government policy. While for the internal objectives, the Forum will improve internal communication among members, and collaborate together for social programs that focus on community empowerment. This internal objective is an important program as effort to improve the quality of IPB’ graduate students competency. Jargon Productive, Synergistic, Professional, and Progressive, are the mainstay of the new elected student forum to contribute to national development.
Secretary of the Master Degree Program of the School of Graduate Studies of IPB, Prof. Dr. Nahrowi, was the executive to induce the elected Forum. It was carried out on Saturday, 16 January 2016, in the classroom A Faculty of Veterinary Medicine IPB, Campus IPB Bogor. In his remarks he stated that the Graduate School of IPB has been committed to improve the quality services for its students both for the academic and curriculum.
"To improve the communication among the university communities, especially the on-line service, currently IPB is establishing the Data System Integration for all Faculties up to University level. The Forum Wacana of IPB is expected to play important role to assist the university by presenting their aspiration to improve the existing system, "he explained.
Waheed Al-Hasan, one of the international graduate students from Pakistan, who was elected to be one of the Executive Committees of the Forum Wacana of IPB looked forward to accommodate activities and synergy between foreign and Indonesian students. "One of the goals that I become member of Forum Wacana of IPB is to learn more about IPB campus, student activities, and to be to submit our international student’ aspirations. Hopefully the Forum Wacana of IPB will provide forum for the international and Indonesian students to synergize together, "he said.
To implement its work programs Forum Wacana of IPB has established six departmental units, namely the Kajian Strategis dan Kebijakan Publik (KSKP – Department of Strategic Studies and Public Policy), Departemen Hubungan Organisasi Kampus (Kominfo – Department of Communications and Information Technology), Departemen Sosial Masyarakat (Department of Social Affairs), Departemen Hubungan Organisasi Kampus (HOK – Department of Community Relations of Campus Organization), Departemen Pengembangan dan Pelayanan Mahasiswa (the Department of Development and Student Services) and Departemen Pengembangan Bisnis (Department of Business Development). Also participated in this event 14 (fourteen) members of the Himpunan Mahasiswa Muslim Pascasarjana (Himmpas of the Muslim Students Association of the School of the Graduate Studies), and 18 (eighteen) members of Himpunan Kewirausahaan Pascasarjana (Himawipa – the Association of Graduate Entrepreneurship) IPB.
