Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held “Seminar Nasional Pengembangan Ekonomi Kreatif dan Pemberdayaan Pemuda Indonesia / National Seminar on the Development of the Creative Economy and the Youth Empowerment of Indonesia”, Tuesday (29/12). The event taking place in Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor was the result of cooperation of Department of Economics of FEM of IPB with BNI Syariah, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan / Financial Services Authority and Elang Group.
 
Chairman of the Committee, Khalifah Moh. Ali, said, this event was held to give the information and the development strategy of the creative economy and the youth empowerment of Indonesia, but it was also a venue to hone and examine the development of the creative economy in accordance with Islamic law.  
 
Dean of FEM of IPB, Dr. Yusman Syaukat, conveyed that Indonesian economy could be more advanced by developing the creative economy, namely developing the creative ideas to develop the products. “Indonesia has a great potential to develop the creative economy. The creative economy becomes a pillar of the economy of Indonesia. It is expected with the creative economy, Indonesian economy can be more advanced,” he said.
 
Dr. Yusman also said, Indonesian government starting from 2006 namely during the reign of President SBY had developed the creative economy under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade. Continued in the era of President Joko Widodo which was under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
 
This event presented the resource persons: Chairman of Department of Islamic Economics of FEM of IPB, Dr. Dedi Budiman Hakim, Achmad Buchori from Islamic Banking of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan / Financial Services Authority, Dr. Imam Teguh Saptono from PT Bank BNI Syariah, and Elang Gumilang from Elang Group.
