President Jokowi Will Come and Visit the Festival Bunga dan Buah Nusantara 2015

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, will grace the occasion of the Festival Bunga dan Buah Nusantara (FBBN – Fruit and Flower Festival Nusantara) in 2015, which will be held on 27-29 November 2015, at campus of the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB – Bogor Agricultural University). Mr. President expressed his willingness to come and grace the occasion in the meeting between the Executive Boards of IPB and the President at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, early November 2015.  This was stated by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, in the press conference at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor, on Friday, 20 November 2015. In addition he also stated that,  "48 (forty)  Indonesia Regents will also come to visit  FBBN 2015," said the rector.

 

Further rector explained that the objectives of this annual program initiated by IPB, are to encourage, facilitate and to promote the development of fruit and flowers grown by the Indonesian farmers. In addition, FBBN is also part of the “Gerakan Revolusi Orange (Orange Revolution)’’ campaign which includes the revolutionary of policies, infrastructure, leadership and human resource development, innovation and technology, as well as the system of exploitation and penetration of the Indonesian fruit.

 

The theme of the 2-15 FBBN will be "Revolusi Pengembangan Buah Nusantara Skala Usaha Kecil dan Menengah untuk Kesejahteraan Bangsa Indonesia (The Revolution of the Indonesian Fruit Development by Small and Medium Farmers for the Welfare of Indonesia)". The series of program will  include: Investment Forum for the Indonesian Fruit Business by Small and Medium Enterprises, Fruitpreneur Got Talent, Expo and Bursa of Flowers and Fruit, Fruit and Mango Contests, Carnival of the Indonesian Flowers and Fruit, the wow of the Indonesian Fruit Pledge by 48 Regents from all over Indonesia. 

 

Further, FBBN 2015 will held various competitions, such as flowers and fruit photography competitions, fruit processing, flower arrangement, fashion shows for early childhood, drawing, decorate horta and dance performance of by high school students’ creations.

 

Sementara itu, Karnaval FBBN 2015 akan melibatkan 10 mobil hias, 6 grup marching band, 55 pertunjukan properti dan kostum, serta lebih dari 10 ribu peserta yang akan berkeliling Bogor mengkampanyekan kecintaan terhadap buah nusantara. 

 

For FBBN 2015 Carnival, it will show 10 (ten) floats, 6 (six) groups marching band, 55 (fifty) properties and costumes show, as well as more than 10.000 (ten thousand) Indonesian fruit lovers will participate in Marching around Bogor for campaigning fruits. 

 

"We have designed the 2015 Festival Bunga dan Buah Nusantara as attractive as possible to stimulate the agriculture development, especially for flowers and fruit commodities of Indonesia," said the rector.

 

The Organizing Committee of FBBN 2015 is IPB, and it is supported by the City of Bogor Government; Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; Ministry of Agriculture; Ministry of State Enterprises of  RI; The Ministry of Rural Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration; Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop and SMEs) RI; and the Ministry of Tourism of RI.

 

"We hope that the presence of the President, Mr. Joko Widodo, will make 2015 FBBN to be the very very special occasion. The president is expected to inspire and encourage young generation and entrepreneurs to be tough and more competitive," stated the  rector who was accompanied by Chairman of the Steering Committee FBBN 2015, Jumadi S.
