Rector of IPB inaugurated the Executive Room of the Academic Senate

Rector of IPB (Bogor Agricultural University), Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto,  inaugurated the Working  Room of Academic Senate of IPB, on Wednesday, 21 October 2015, at the Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Dramaga Campus, Bogor. Some of the important guests presented in the inauguration of the building were members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of IPB, chairman and members of the Board of Professors (DGB) of IPB, chairman and members of the Academic Senate (SA) of IPB, researchers, and faculty members of IPB. In addition, chairman of the previous Academic Senate of IPB, namely Prof. Sitanala Arsyad, and Prof.Dr. Dudung Darusman, as well as the previous Secretary of Academic Senate of IPB, Dr. Suryo Adi Wibowo, were there to grace the occasion.

 

"Thank God the renovation process of the Executive Room for Academic Senate of IPB was completed on time, after redesigned it especially with the addition of the meeting room for the Senate Academic Chairman," said Rector.

 

Rector explained, the Academic Senate is the voice of the faculty members in IPB. The Senate is the one organization that enables the faculty members, through shared governance, to exercise its right to participate in the University’s governance. This organization enables the faculty to formulate and implement regulations of academic freedom, and ply their stronger role in decision-making processes of IPB. 

 

Finally, chairman Academic Senate of IPB, Prof.Dr Tridoyo Kusumastanto, expressed his sincere thanks for Rector IPB for his supports and directions, so Executive Room for Academic Senate of IPB was completed and is ready for operation. Further, he said, this organization will also review the of Principles of Academic Freedom and formulate the university conduct Codes. (Wied)
