IPB Investment Summit

 

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Investment Summit was one of the activities implemented in the 52nd Dies Natalis of IPB. IPB Investment Summit was carried out on Thursday (3/9), taking place in Sultan Hotel, Jakarta. This activity was organized in the cooperation between IPB and Alumni Association of IPB.

 

The activity of IPB Investment Summit was officially opened by Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto. In his speech, the Rector conveyed, “Through the development of innovation with the research that we do, hopefully Indonesia becomes the country which is more advanced and its economy is strong. No longer more selling materials, but it has to be shifted to many selling processed products with the added value, and subsequently it is shifted to the innovation driven economy which main pattern is the power of innovation”.

 

The event which was organized in the form of the presentation of offers from IPB to the investors who attended this, aimed to bring together the potential businessmen with IPB, as an institution of higher education with the research results that were ready to be applied and used commercially. With this event, it was expected that the research results produced by IPB could be realized soon commercially.

 

IPB Investment Summit also gave the opportunity to the potential investors to make a presentation about areas that were desirable in the business sector, especially relating to agriculture in the broadest sense, starting from upstream to downstream.

 

This activity involved around 26 innovators of IPB with the innovations which were ready to be applied, divided into four clusters i.e. food, biomedicine, feed and bio-fertilizer as well as machinery and bio-energy. In this meeting, only researches that were ready to use would be presented. Conversely, only investors who were really serious, interested in the agricultural business, and or already registered in Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), allowed to attend.

 

Furthermore, IPB Investment Summit was organized with the hope of the result of research and the research of IPB that could be realized for the sake of business or general public. It was expected that in the future, the innovation result of the academic society of IPB could also be used by the people of Indonesia, and outside Indonesia. (as)
